Metal Co, it Was a History making Event. I was a 22 year old at the time (1966) and a African American, The First . He was always Professional in his job duties. and the up most respect. May God Blessing Shine on You.

Dearest Anna, Claire, and Mrs. Townsend,
I am so heartbroken for all of you in your loss of such a precious man. I will always remember Mr. Townsend for his big heart, bright smile, and happy laugh. He was always so kind to me. My prayers are with all of you and your families in the days ahead, especially on Thursday. I am afraid that my work prevents me from being able to attend, but I will be thinking of you. Love you all.

Marie joins me in expressing our deepest sympathy. Bob and I grew up together in North Florence and were members of Northwood Methodist Church. We were lifelong friends. I could always count on Bob to keep me informed about significant events in Florence. He was a prime example of what a true southern gentleman should be. He will be missed. Rest in peace my friend.
