Mr. Joseph Andrew Simkovich, Sr., 78, of Florence, passed away on July 15, 2016 at his residence. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, U.S. Navy veteran and he was an avid shooter and gun enthusiast. He also loved to hunt and fish.
Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home, Monday, July 18, 2016 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Father Roy Runkle officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Rose Simkovich.
Survivors include his sons, Joseph A. Simkovich Jr. of Florida, Wayne Simkovich (Brenda) of Tuscumbia and Patrick Simkovich of Florence; daughter, Pamela Garrett (Dean) of Tuscumbia, sisters, Joyce Scolaro and Maureen Bresney both of Florida and Edna Mary Mancuso of New York; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Garrett, Matt South, Matthew South, Rodney Hubbard, Danny Ledbetter and George Jones.
