With a quiet sigh LaVerne Flowers Young left her loved ones for her heavenly reward. In recent years she lived in Sarasota Florida. She was the widow of Doyle R. Young of Florence and the mother of Janice Young and Donald Young. LaVerne was born on July 27, 1922, in Only, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Marshall and Mary Jane Flowers. Before she married she was employed at the historic knitting mill in East Florence where many lifelong friendships were forged. Family was the center of her life.
Visitation will be today, Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 11-12 noon at Greenview Funeral Home. A graveside service will begin at 12 noon in Greenview Memorial Park.
In addition to her two children, she is survived by three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
