Virginia Estelle Walker, 84, of Florence, passed away February 23, 2017 at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehab Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Florence. Mrs. Walker was known for her sense of style and love of family.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Kevin Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Katherine Cox; husband, Howard Walker; sisters, Betty Ruth Carter, Rebecca Cox; and a brother, Jimmy Porter Cox (Sonny).
She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Lindsey (Randy); sons, Rhett Butler (Sharon), Steve Butler (Kay); brothers, Kenneth and Phillip Cox; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Irons, and Linda McClure; grandchild, Mary-Walker Lindsey; and several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will include: Terry Buchanan, Tucker Buchanan, Bruce Stutts, Bud Walker, James Walker, and Doug McClure.
Honorary pallbearers will be Heath McClure, Trent Buchanan, and Ty Buchanan.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her niece, Katrena Pierce who took such loving care of her during the last months of her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
