Just now learning of John's passing. I worked for him for a very short time while employed at WRLH in Richmond, VA. It was quite pleasurable working for him. May he rest in peace.

I just learned of John's passing. He was a mentor to me for many years while I worked for him at Sinclair. My prayers go out to his family.

John was a good and gracious friend & customer. Always fair, objective and willing to share his vast experience and knowledge. John also had wise insight on the current events of our time, his business and a pleasure to talk with. Our prayers for peace & comfort are with the Batson family, his co-workers in Birmingham and the Sinclair Broadcast family. Peace & love to you one & all.

I worked with John professionally as one of his Regional Engineering charges in Asheville, NC for several years. He was an inspiration in his unwavering demand for excellence from himself and all around him. After he was promoted away from the day-to-day regional duties and took on a corporate management role, I would still turn to him for his humor, advice and kind ear in all situations. My thoughts and prayers to all who feel this loss at his passing.

A respected co-worker and a good friend, John was always willing to share his vast knowledge with others and offer a few laughs along the way. I'll always cherish memories of traveling with John and will miss our daily phone chats.

I am heartbroken to hear of John's death! I have known John Batson for at least 40 plus years and even though I have not seen him in several years, i often thought about him and would ask other people who knew him about him. My heartfelt prayers are with his family!
