Jeanette Bowlin Hale “Rube”, 78, of Florence, passed away September 30, 2015 at E.C.M. Hospital. She was a graduate of Coffee High School and a member of Underwood Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend to all who knew her. She was best known for her cooking, especially her biscuits and homemade jelly. Her sweet tea could not be beat along with her grandmother’s chocolate cake. She was always asked to bring those to our family gatherings.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 6 – 9 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday, October 2, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Underwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. John Brock, the Rev. Bart Bowlin, and the Rev. Matt Buerhaus officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Hale was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Opal Blaylock Bowlin; brother, Donald W. Bowlin, sister, Karla Jane Bowlin Cohen.
She is survived by her husband, Billy J. Hale of Florence; sons, Tommy Hale (Pam) of Sheffield, John Hale (Stephanie) of Roswell, GA, Sammy Hale (Rose) of Florence; brother, Bob Bowlin of Florence; sister, Tammy Bowlin of Florence; grandchildren, Russell McBride (Daneen), Joey McBride (Amy), Will, Ben, and Cara Anderson, Paige Atwell; great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Jake, Chelsie, Mason and Brady McBride, and Bronson Mauney.
Pallbearers will be Greg Bowlin, Steve Bowlin, Russell McBride, Joey McBride, Will Anderson, and Ben Anderson.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. McFall, Dr. Paul, and to the ICU nursing staff.
