Jacqueline "Jackie" (Childers) Hill

Jacqueline (Jackie) Childers Hill went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2016. She was born on July 23, 1930 in Nauvoo, AL. She has been a resident of Florence her adult life.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Emit Childers and Annie Spain Carroll; her brother, Gayrell Childers; her sister, Maxine Odom and her son, Jimmy Hill.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Baker Hill; her daughter, Kim Hill; her son, Jeff Hill; daughter-in-law, Susan; her grandson, Justin whom she adored and her grand-dog, Megan who could do no wrong.

She was a graduate of Winston County High School and Larimore Business College. She started her career at Reynold’s Aluminum Company in the Traffic Department. She interrupted her professional career to take on what she considered her most important job that of raising her three children. After all were in school, she returned to work as the church secretary at Florence First Church of the Nazarene. She continued in this role for 30 years. She also served the church as the Board Secretary and Treasurer.

In her spare time she loved to sew, do all types of needlework, crochet, listen and sing to Southern Gospel songs. She also loved to travel. Her kindness and caring and love for family, friends and the Lord were her greatest attributes.

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home on Saturday, August 20, 2016  from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Pastor Randy Crawford and Dr. Lee Allison officiating.  Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
