Wilmer “Sonny” Bogus

Wilmer J. “Sonny” Bogus, 88, Florence, passed away September 1, 2025, at home.  Mr. Bogus was a Minister, Carpenter and Builder.

Visitation will be Friday, September 5, 2025, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Jacksonburg Church of Christ.  A one-hour Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service.  Officiating will be Eric Bogus and Austin Swinea.

Mr. Bogus was preceded in death by his parents, Brack and Esther Bogus; wife, Janie Brewer Bogus; sisters, Christine Pate (Buster), Mary Ruth DeVaney (Bill), Dorothy Jeffers (Charles), and Betty Rickard (John); brothers, Chester, Bobby, and David Bogus; in-laws, Clinton Gray, Jasper Brewer, and Helen Brewer; nieces, Robbie Rickard, Kathy Moe, and Susan Pate; and nephews, Lee and Chad Brewer.

Mr. Bogus is survived by daughter, Sonya Armentrout (Bryan) Buford, GA; sons, Braxton (Natalie) Florence, AL, Eric (Kim) Senatobia, MS, and Jay (Donna) Killen, AL; sisters, Ozelene Clara Gray and Ann Cook (Robert); sisters-in-law, Patsy, Sue, and Linda Bogus; grandchildren, Caleb Bogus (Katelyn), Joshua Bogus, Levi Bogus (Anna), Brylee Armentrout, Ashley Stults, and Audrey Montgomery; great grandchildren, Hannah Kate, Isaiah, Matthew and Judah Bogus, and River Stults; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Levi Bogus, Joshua Bogus, Caleb Bogus, Lee Butler, Brad Cook, and James Paul Nobles.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenny Smith, Gary DeVaney, Johnny Rickard, Larry Gray, Tim Bogus, Tim Brewer, Ricky Brewer, Brian Brewer, and Tyler Gooch.
