William David Maddox

William David Maddox, 81, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center. He was retired as head of security at UNA, was a member of Florence Masonic Lodge, and the United States Navy.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Greenview Memorial Park.

William was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Maddox; parents, V.C. and Nell Maddox; and brothers, Danny Maddox and Gary Maddox.

He is survived by his nieces, Heidi LeeAnne Slappey and Danielle Lynn Napier, both of Florence; great nieces and nephews, Bradley and Ashley Slappey and Jordan, Kaylyn, Noah, and Kylie Grace Napier.
