Steve Lee Davis, 72, of Zip City, AL passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center. Steve spent years in the mobile home industry working in transport and setup before finding his love for repairing anything with a motor later in life. He loved being outdoors, country music, and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Railroad Cemetery, just north of the state line at the corner of AL 17/TN 13 (Chisholm Road) and Iron City Road with Bobby Griffus officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Hardin Davis and Bertha Marie Spires Davis, along with his brothers Ricky “Redman” Davis and Dennis Davis.
He is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Gloria Faye Davis, and his two sons, Jason Lee Davis and Andy Wayne Davis, along with AJ, the family’s beloved dog. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters including Tim Davis (Judy), Jackie Davis, Sr., John McMullen (Lynn), Debra Keen, Donna McCutcheon, Charlotte Lovelace (Mike), Susan Pounders (Robert), and Donna Leonard (Marlon).
Pallbearers will include Josh Stults, Michael Lambert, Shane Berry, Shane Calhoun, John Gibson, and Travis Vinson. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Bevis, Kadyn Dison, and Casey Darby.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses, and staff in the ICU of NAMC for their exceptional care of Steve during his time there. The family is eternally grateful to those who reached out with prayers, well-wishes, and especially the contributions of food and to the burial fund.
Roll Tide, Steve! We love you and Zip City won’t be the same without you.
