Sandra (Holland) King

God needed another angel and called our dear Sandra Holland King, age 78, home on Sunday morning May 21,2023 while she was visiting Italy on her dream trip.  A Celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at St. James Methodist Church in Florence, Alabama, on Tuesday, March 30th, visitation from 11AM-1 PM and the service to follow at 1 PM. The service will be officiated by Pastor Dean Bowers.

The love of our life, wife, mother, grandmother (YaYa) and a devoted friend to all who knew her, Sandra was the light that radiated over us all.  Sandra was born in Hollandale, Mississippi,  to Jean and David Holland and lived in the Mississippi delta until she moved to Yazoo City, Mississippi,  where she met and eventually married  her husband of 58 years, Elias Campbell King.  Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Campbell, daughters Kim King Robertson (Bill), Kristen King Allen (Brad), and Laura King McKee (Jonathan), brother David Holland of Brookhaven, Mississippi , grandchildren whom she adored Matthew, Dawclyn, Cash and Landry and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Sandra loved her Church Family at St. James and was a tireless worker whenever and wherever she was needed. She served on many committees and loved her Family Life Team and Circle of Hope members. She loved her Gym mates in Killen and her Garden Club friends which are too many to mention.

Sandra was a retired school teacher having taught for 34 years in various states and cities where she was named Teacher of the Year three times. She made a lasting impression on her students and many of them stayed in touch with her.

Our family wishes to thank all those who touched our lives and were so dear to our Sandra. She will be dearly missed by us all.
