Ruth Elizabeth "Betty" (Thomasy) Hollis

Ruth Elizabeth “Betty” Thomasy Hollis, 90, of Florence, passed away January 8, 2023. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Betty moved to Florence, AL with her husband Richard, after retiring as Vice President of ITT Bank in Newport Beach, CA. Here they reconnected with Dick’s family and made many new lasting friendships.

A Memorial Service will be held January 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Lanier Nail.

Mrs. Hollis was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Hollis; and parents, Stephen and Beatrice Trathen Thomasy.

She is survived by her sons, David A. Hollis, MD (Rose) of Florence, and Stephen S. Hollis (Linda) of Huntington Beach, CA; brother, Carl Thomasy (Kathleen) of Indio, CA; grandchildren, Sean Hollis (Melissa Latko) of Birmingham, Heather Hollis (James Simmerer) of Huntsville, AL, and Whitney Savage (Chris) of Costa Mesa, CA; and great grandchildren, Ava and Aspen Simmerer of Huntsville AL, and Avery and James Savage of Costa Mesa, CA.
