Rosemary Black Snodgrass, age 72, of Florence, Alabama, passed peacefully from this life on July 31, 2025. Born on May 9, 1953, Rosemary lived a life defined by grace, compassion, and steadfast faith.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charlie and Mary Agnes Black, and her brother, John Black.
Rosemary is survived by her loving husband, Don Snodgrass; her children, Mary Beth (Tom) Greenway, Luke (Morgan), and Adam Snodgrass; her cherished grandchildren, Addie Grace, Rosie, and Katie Jean Greenway, and Zoie and Zac Snodgrass; her brother, Bob Black and his family. Her family was the heart of her world, and she delighted in every moment spent with them.
A faithful member of Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ, Rosemary lived her faith daily through service and kindness. She touched the lives of countless individuals through her counseling as a school and professional counselor in the Shoals area and by teaching counseling classes throughout the world. She was proud to serve on the Board of Directors of Mars Hill Bible School and the Board for Herald of Truth, organizations that reflected her deep commitment to Christian education and evangelism.
Those who knew Rosemary will remember her for her warmth, her gentle strength, and her unwavering devotion to others. Her greatest passions were loving her family, caring for those in need, and serving our Lord—callings she fulfilled with quiet humility and boundless love.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and service that will continue to bless those who knew her and inspire those who follow in her steps.
A service celebrating Rosemary’s life will be held at Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ on Monday, August 4th. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and conclude with a Service at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mars Hill Bible School, Heritage Christian University, or Herald of Truth Ministries in her memory. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
