Rose McFall Obituary

Rose Marie McFall, age 90, of Florence, Alabama passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Rose Marie was born on October 6, 1934, in Florence, Alabama, alongside her twin sister. She graduated from Coffee High School and earned a degree from Florence State Teachers College.

After college, Rose Marie married her high school sweetheart, David. She taught elementary school for seven years, where she was deeply loved by her students.

She later chose to devote herself full time to motherhood, a role she embraced with much devotion. When Rose Marie became a mother, she began a legacy of adoption that now spans three generations—shaping the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Rose Marie was a member of Church of the Highlands, where she found strength and peace in her faith. She made people feel special through the tradition of sending thoughtful birthday cards, and her famous chocolate fudge pies were enjoyed by many. Her beloved dog Molly, brought her comfort and happiness everyday.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Earle and Lee Cathey, and by her husband David McFall.

She is survived by her faithful twin sister, Mary Lee Wright (Jerry); her children, Stephen McFall and Beth Bayles (Ferrin); and her grandchildren: Jim Sheffield (Maryl), David McFall, Neil McFall, Amy Richardson (Adam), Sidney Fleming (Austin), Sara Dollar (Tyler), and Finn Bayles, and great-grandchildren: Declan and Silas Sheffield, Ollie and Mae Richardson, Ferrin and Graves Fleming, and Boone Dollar.

Visitation will be a Greenview Memorial Park from noon to 2 p.m. with service to follow on Friday, May 30th.

Pall bearers will be: Jim Sheffield, Neil McFall, Adam Richardson, Austin Fleming, Tyler Dollar, Finn Bayles and Larry Anthony.

The family would like to thank the compassionate team at Affinity Hospice for their loving support. A special thank you to her dedicated caregivers: Kim Wilson, Amy Taylor, and Amy Sharp, whose steadfast kindness and care meant so much to Rose Marie and her family.

“Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
