Robert "Bobby" Thomas Haynes

Robert Thomas “Bobby” Haynes, 91 of Florence, passed away September 21, 2025. Bobby was born July 22, 1934 to Jessie and Troy Haynes. Bobby served in the Army for 2 years in Korea. He became a meat cutter after his return to the states and worked at Kroger and Big Star for 50 years.

Bobby was a member of Killen Church of Christ. He loved playing golf and played at every opportunity possible. Bobby also enjoyed pheasant hunting and went every year with friends to Nebraska. Bobby could tell war stories for hours.

Bobby's greatest blessing was his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was married to his wife Lucile Haynes for 67 years. He enjoyed teaching his son to play golf and loved his grandsons with all his heart. When he found out he was going to be a great grandfather he couldn't contain his excitement.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Lucille, his parents, Jessie and Troy Haynes, his brothers, Denson Haynes and Conrad Haynes; and his sister, Charlotte Jenkins.

He is survived by his son, Donnie (Ruth); grandsons, Josh (Megan) and Thomas (Danielle); great grandchildren, Kodie and Oliver Haynes; sister, Sonja (Terry) Justice; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks for the love and care to the staff and nurses at El Reposo Nursing Home and Dr. Wampler.

There will be a visitation at Greenview Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 11:00 - 12:00. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Stan Dean of Killen Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Greenview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Josh Haynes, Thomas Haynes, Stephen Hyde, Brad Cooper, Mike Durham and Mel Haynes.
