Phillip Eugene “Gene” Wesson

Phillip Eugene (Gene) Wesson, Sr. of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, passed away August 20, 2025.  Gene was a Navy Veteran of World War II.  Electrical Local 558 (1953) worked for 15 years Muscle Shoals Electric System 25 years at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant.  A 60 year member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Florence Blvd. 

He was survived by son, Timothy Craig Wesson (Tonya); granddaughter Jessica Wesson Alberti; grandson, Phillip Eugene Wesson III (Pam); great grandchildren. Braeden Wesson; Karlee Wesson; Archie Alberti; Ruby Alberti; sisters, Judy Woodruff (Woody, deceased); Peggy Cooper (Steve, deceased); brothers, Jerry Wesson (Kaye, deceased); Jim Wesson (Susan); a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 68 years, Beulah Tucker Wesson.  son, Phillip E. Wesson Jr.; parents, Thomas Glenn Wesson, Sr.; Gerty Phillips Wesson; sister, Faye Williams; brothers, Jr. Wesson (Nola); John W. Wesson (Ardenia); David Wesson (Shirley).

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Greenview Funeral Home from 9:00 – 9:45 am. followed by a graveside service at 10:00 am in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiant will be Jeremiah Wesson. Pall Bearers will be nephews David Wesson,Josh Cooper, Zack Cooper, Scotty Wesson, Colby Wesson and Cliff Vickery.
