Phillip Claude Lamb, age 72, of Florence, Alabama, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center.
Born on September 15, 1952, in Cook County, Illinois, Phillip was the beloved son of Shirley Ann Wilson and Claude Lamb, and stepson to Jimmy Haun. He was a man of deep faith and compassion, dedicating 12 years of his life serving as a hospice chaplain, offering comfort and peace to countless families during their most difficult times.
Phillip is lovingly remembered by his sons, Tim, Mike, Matt, and Steven; grandchildren, Katelyn, James, DJ, Kelly, Julie, Madelynn, Scarlett, and Eli; daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Amber; brother, David Kennedy; nephews, David Lee Kennedy, Joshua Kennedy, and George Payne; nieces, Wendy Kennedy and Bobbie Lee Payne; and his stepfather, Jimmy Haun. Also surviving him is his lifelong friend Larry Cordez, who stood by Phillip through every season of life with unwavering loyalty and friendship.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Keely Lamb; his parents, Shirley Ann Wilson and Claude Lamb; grandmother, Dorthy Wade Wilson; and his brother, Bobby Payne.
A private celebration of life will be held at the family home to honor Phillip’s legacy, his love for his family, and his unwavering spirit of service. His wisdom, humor, and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
