Paula (Thompson) Spurlock

Mary Paula Thompson Spurlock, 57, of Florence, AL, passed away on November 5, 2023, after a long battle with health issues.

Paula was a social butterfly and enjoyed spending time around people. One of her favorite activities was cheering on her daughter, Mallory, throughout her softball career. Paula had a giving spirit and enjoyed helping others whenever she was able. She had a great sense of humor and made sure to keep everyone entertained. She enjoyed listening to music, visits to the beach, and creating art.

Paula graduated from Coffee High School where she was involved in sports. Paula later attended the University of North Alabama where she received her MBA.

Paula was preceded in death by her mother, Bobbie Sue Watkins Thompson. She is survived by her father Robert Earl Thompson Sr., sister Angie Thompson Tyra (Brent), brother Roby Thompson, daughter Mallory Spurlock Trollinger (Mac), and a host of nieces, nephew, other family members, and friends.

Paula was looking forward to welcoming her first grandchild into the world this coming December.

A visitation will be Friday, November 10, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. There is no funeral service planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to Mars Hill Bible School’s softball program or to a local animal shelter. These two organizations were close to Paula’s heart.
