Paula Ellen Ross

Paula Ellen Ross, age 71, passed away at her home on July 18, 2025, after an extended illness.

 Paula was born on November 19, 1954, in Lower Burrel, Pa. to Roy and Olga Ross. She moved to Alabama in 1971 and graduated from Lee High school. She graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, then went on to get a Master's Degree in Psychology at The University of North Alabama. Paula loved to read, to cook, and to learn. She enjoyed needlepoint; she loved music; and she was an avid Steelers fan. 

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Mark and her nephew, Justin.

 She is survived by her husband, Douglas Gooch; her daughter, Kristin Snipes; and husband Charles; son, Patrick; grandchildren, Gareth and Karina; her brother, Roy Ross, and wife Wanda, of Florence; her sister, Becky Umphrey, and husband Steve of Birmingham; nephews, Eric Ross and wife Jenilee, Nicholas and wife Amanda, Ross Umphrey and wife Hannah; and her niece, Curran Umphrey Salter and husband Ben; and great nieces and nephews and friends, all of which will miss her greatly.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, July 25, 2025, at 10 am at Greenview Memorial Chapel.
