Patricia (Hill) Howard

Patricia Hill Howard, age 81, of Florence, AL, passed from this life on Thursday, May 25, 2023. She was born in Florence, AL on March 15, 1942.

Patricia graduated from Coffee High School in 1960 and on July 30, 1960, married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Raymond “Dickey” Howard. They had two children together and four grandchildren. She was the matriarch of her family - an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. Patricia was a member of the Singing River Church of Christ. She loved the Lord with all her heart and served Him faithfully as His child. She loved her spiritual family and was devoted to serving others. Mrs. Pat had a day-care in her home for twenty years where she found joy and fulfillment in caring for children. She was a blessing to all who knew her.

Patricia was a kind, loving, and caring person. She truly was the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31. “Her children will forever rise and call her blessed; her husband also will always praise her. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Patricia fought the good fight and kept the faith.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Homer Charles Hill, and Velma Sledge Hill; brothers William Hill, Howard Hill, Gilbert Hill, and Fred Hill; sisters Opal Gray and Sue Maness. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-two years, Raymond “Dickey” Howard; son Michael Howard (Pam); daughter Angela Richardson (Greg); grandchildren Kristy Howard, Katie Coan (Duston), Trey Richardson (Katie), and Anna Catherine Cook (Charlie), and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive family and friends for visitation on Monday May 29th from 11 am to 1 pm with funeral to follow at 1 pm at Greenview Funeral Home. Officiating will be Frank Richey and Colby Junkin. The burial will be at Florence Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Branham, Matthew Chambers, Donald Collier, Leslie Hill, Brent Putman, and Taylor Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Balentine, Don Miller, and David Wilson.
