Nadine B. Long

The Funeral Service for Nadine B. Long, 95, of Florence, Alabama, will be 2PM Friday, August 11, 2023 at Greenview Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2PM prior to the service.  Brother Stan Dean and Jordan Hamner will officiate the service.  The interment will be in Greenview Memorial Park.

Ms. Long passed from this life on August 8, 2023 after an extended illness. She was born June 5, 1928 to Robert Newton Long and Martha Ann Irwin Long of Waynesboro, TN.  Nadine was a machine operator for 45 years at Genesco, Lin-D’s and Tee Jays.  She loved to bake coconut cakes, fudge, and chicken and dumplings.

Ms. Long was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Garland Long, Sr. of Florence, Alabama, and Grover Curtis Long of Milton, Florida; her niece, Kay Smith of Jacksonville, Florida.

She is survived by her special friend of 67 years, Shirley Johnson; nieces, Margaret Ann Mulford of Jacksonville, Florida, Peggy Sue Mills of Idaho, Carol (Dickie) Sanderson of Florence, Alabama; nephew, Bobby (Sue) Long of Florence, Alabama.

The family gives a special thanks to Dr. David Brown, Elizabeth and Roche of Florence Medical Associates for their care of Ms. Long.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bradley Warble and Gene Wesson.
