Myra Jean (Burney) Carter

Myra Burney Carter, age 63, went home to be with Jesus on January 24, 2026. She was born on October 15th, 1962, in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and was the beloved daughter of the late Jadie and Melba Burney.

Visitation is Friday, January 30, 2026, from 5p-8p, at Underwood Baptist Church. The funeral service will be Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Underwood Baptist Church. Officiating will be Josh Allen.

Myra is survived and loved by her husband, Steve, and daughters, Mallory Allen and McKenzie Monroe. As well as by her sister, Cala Flippo; and her brother, Jay Burney. She was dearly loved by all, especially her four grandchildren, Jake, James, Carter and Maddie; and her sons-in-loves, Josh and John, who all affectionately knew her as “MyMy.”

Her impact and legacy for the Lord will be forever remembered by her kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews and so many others who she has counseled and shared Jesus with throughout her life. Her wish is that you all would remember that Jesus is the only one who can fulfill you, so keep serving and seeking Him, even when things are hard. “You can always trust His promises!”

Pallbearers will be Josh Flippo, Joe Flippo, Sam Flippo, Jadie Burney, Trey Mitchell, and Matt Buerhass.
