Michael Keith Lawson

Michael Keith Lawson, 71, of Florence, passed away January 8, 2025 after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County and a descendent of some of Lauderdale County’s earliest settlers. Mr. Lawson was a member of IBEW and a UNA Alumni.

A graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2025 in Greenview Memorial Park with Daryl Whitehead officiating.

Mr. Lawson was preceded by his parents, Delbert Lee and Bertha Corrine Pruitt Lawson; in-laws, Harvey and Willodean Atkinson; brothers-in-law, James and Randy Atkinson; nephew, Steve Atkinson; and brother-in-law, Rex Phillips.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Atkinson Lawson; daughter, Heather Lawson; son, Zachary Michael Lawson; sister, Wanda Phillips; brother, Bruce Lawson (Dana); sisters-in-law, Shirley Scanlon and Nan Atkinson; nephew, Jonathan (Kristin); nieces, Laura Howard (Jimmy), Becky, Tiffany (J.J.), Andrea Holt, Dana Kelley (Andy), and April Mitchell.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Michael Lawson, Bruce Lee Lawson, Jonathan Lee Lawson, Jimmy Howard, Ray Pruitt, and Gary Keeton.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Carpenter and Keith Rhodes.

Mr. Lawson’s family ask that in honor of his life that we keep Parkinson’s patients in our hearts.
