Mary A (Dowdy) Schifano

Mary A. Dowdy Schifano, 93, of Florence, passed away August 21, 2018 at ECM Hospital after a brief illness. She attended the Church of Christ.

Visitation will be Friday, August 24, 2018 from 10:30-12 Noon at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel with David Dowdy officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenview Memorial Park Love Mausoleum.

Mrs. Schifano was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Ada Dowdy; husband, Frank Schifano; brother, G. W. Dowdy; sister-in-law, Bernice Dowdy; and a son-in-law, Roger Davis.

She is survived by her son, Tony Schifano; daughters, Mary Alice Davis, Debbie Schifano, and Gina Jones (Robert); brothers, Charles and Winford Dowdy; sister, Lois McCormick; grandchildren, Tracey Woodward (Lisa), Brett Woodward (Nakia), Tiffany Shockley, Sean and Lauren Schifano, and April Archer; and great-grandchildren, Sadie, Sam, Sydney, Xander, Abby and Ayden.

She was a loving mom and mamaw.

Pallbearers will include: Tracey Woodward, Brett Woodward, Jim Edgemon, Robert Jones, Sam Shockley, and Doug Hayes.

 A special thanks goes to Green Oaks Inn’s staff for their care of our mom.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
