Martha (Murphy) Abernathy Moore

Martha Louise (Mot) Murphy Abernathy Moore passed away at NAMC on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

She was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama on February 20, 1939, to the late Elbridge (Ajax) and Willie Vernon Murphy.

Mot was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, W.D. (Donnie) Abernathy and her sons Billy Wayne, Johnny and Paul Abernathy. She was also preceded in death by her husband Gerald (Jerry) Moore and her sisters Virginia (Ginny) Wallace, Dorothy Jean Oakley, and Rebecca (Becky) Young.

She is survived by sons William (Sharyon) and Jimmy (Donna) Abernathy and daughter Carol Underwood; her grandchildren Jason Abernathy, Jessica Martin, Joe Abernathy, Amanda White, Adam Abernathy, Hannah Catherine Cook, Ben Underwood, and Eli Abernathy and twelve great-grandchildren.

Her visitation will be Tuesday, November 7th from 6pm-8pm at Greenview Memorial, Florence.

Her funeral will be Wednesday, November 8th at 10am in the funeral home chapel with Brother Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Cloverdale Church of Christ.

Pallbearers will be Jason Abernathy, Adam Abernathy, Joe Abernathy, Eli Abernathy, Ronnie

Young and John Fulmer.
