Mott was born in Alcorn County, Mississippi on December 29, 1934, to the late Alton Herman and Pearl Bernice Scott. She graduated from Coffee High School in 1952. On June 25, 1952, she married the love of her life, Turner Gene Bratcher, and moved to Norfolk Virginia. They returned to Florence in 1954 when Gene was discharged from the United States Navy. They built their lives on love for the Lord, family and community.
Mott was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent cook and avid gardener who thought daily deadheading was a must. She enjoyed sharing her delicious food and beautiful blooms with family and friends.
Mott and Gene were members of Magnolia Church of Christ and loved their church family. That love was returned as evidenced by the many prayers, visits, calls, flowers, gifts and the abundance of food.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene (Big Daddy) Bratcher; parents, Alton Herman Scott and Pearl Bernice Scot; brothers, William Patrick Scott, Jerry Hal Scott and Phillip Blaine Scott; and sister, Deborah Carol Jones.
Mott is survived by her cherished children, Connie Carter, Cynthia Bratcher, and Bradley Bratcher (Patricia). Grandchildren, Nikki Jackson (Jay), Angela Greenfield (David), Chris Sonego (Kelsey), Matthew Carter (Whitney), Scott Bratcher (Taylor); Great-Grandchildren, Makayla Carter, Cadence Lancaster, Cammy Lancaster, Bonnie Ford, Turner Carter and Rhett Sonego.
She is also survived by her siblings, Jo Scott, Gail Stevenson (Jim), Sue Sullivan, Steve Scott (Sandra), and a host of nieces and nephews who adored their aunt.
Pallbearers will be her loving grandsons and great-grandsons, Chris Sonego, Matthew Carter, Scott Bratcher, Jay Jackson, David Greenfield, Turner Carter and Rhett Sonego.
Honorary Pallbearers will be past and present Shepherds at Magnolia Church of Christ.
