Larry Neal Dowdy

A Celebration of Life service for Larry Neal Dowdy, 76, of Florence will be 5PM, Sunday, September 8, 2024 at New Life Tabernacle.  The family will receive friends from 4 -5PM prior to the service. Travis Dalton, Jeff Street and James Tucker will officiate the service.   

Mr. Dowdy was born September 20, 1947 to Delmer Felton and Louise Marie Henson Dowdy. He passed from this life September 6, 2024at his residence. Larry was the founder and retired pastor of New Life Tabernacle, a member of UPCI, and a member of Painter’s and Allied Trade Local.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmer & Marie Dowdy; son-in-law, James Davis; granddaughter, Melissa Lynch; nephew, Mark Dorontich; brother-in-law, Robert Dorontich.

Larry is survived by his wife, Becky Walsh; son, James Tucker (Theresa), daughter, Ruth Davis; sister, Kathyrn Dorontich; grandchildren, Caitlin Holmes (Zach), Corinne Sarmiento (Jerome), Savanna Salerno (Brett), Chalon Davis, Jacob Davis; eight great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
