Obituary
Karen Leigh Townsend, 63, of Muscle Shoals, passed away May 17, 2023 at North Alabama Medical Center after an extended illness.
In Karen’s profession she was successful in her banking career, working her way up to branch manager of a bank in Houston, Texas.
Karen loved being on the water, and earned her captain’s license after many years of boating. Her love of animals was evident by her adopting multiple rescue dogs and her volunteer work. She never met a stranger and when you became her friend, you were friends for life, and what a generous friend she was!
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Jean Townsend.
She is survived by her brother, Jon Townsend (Rose) of Orange Beach, AL,
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Nashville Humane Society or Gentiva Hospice.
The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
