Joyce Elaine (Beck) Tatum

Joyce E. “Beck” Tatum, was born on January 25, 1938. She was called home to be with Jesus on February 6, 2025. Joyce lived a full life of 87 years.  She had a master’s degree in physical Ed, she was an advocate for women’s sports, she was a teacher, coach, and role model for young ladies. Joyce married the love of her life, Tex Tatum, in 1960. They both had a love of adventure and motorcycles and traveled to all 50 states. She loved music, singing, and playing the piano. She was a member of Cross Point Church of Christ. Her profession of faith in the Lord and sharing her hope of spending eternity in Heaven brings the family comfort and peace in knowing they will see her again one day.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; Leon and Golia Beck; brothers, Vernon (Arlene), Rudy (Mary Ann), and Rayburn (Bobbie Sue); sister, Juanita Blackburn; and grandson, Justin Tatum.

She is survived by her husband, Tex Tatum; daughter, Teresa G. Tatum (Terry); and a son, Mark H. Tatum (Angela).

Visitation will be Monday, February 10, 2025 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Cross Point Church of Christ. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Frank Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
