Johnny "J.L." Gray

Johnny L. (J. L.) Gray, 87, of Florence, passed away March 19, 2023.

He was a kind, humble man, and a loving husband to Margaret for 61 years.  He loved his family.  His hobbies were watching Alabama football, NASCAR, and growing vegetables in his garden. He was a faithful member of Stony Point Church of Christ until his health declined.

There will be a graveside service Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Greenview Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Holt Gray; granddaughter, Summer Gray; great-grandson, Koleson; sisters-in-law, Glenda Gray, Carolyn Crotts, Margie Nell Holt, and Shelia (Donnie) Barrier; and many nieces and nephews who loved Uncle J. L.

He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Allen Gray; parents, John and Minnie Gray; brother, Sandy Gray; sister, Kathleen Thrasher (Bob); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arvil and Mettra Holt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eldred and Hazel Holt, Granville and Sue Holt, Jimmy Holt, and Jerry Crotts.

Pallbearers will be nephews.
