Joan Davis Parker, 73, of Florence died August 29, 2018 at her residence. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She was a Weight Watchers instructor for fifteen years and she worked retail in various retail stores in town.
Joan’s family will always remember her by the way she spoke to people. She had no filter between her thoughts and speech. If she wanted to know something she asked, regardless of propriety or the subject matter. She was unintentionally funny bringing smiles and chuckles from everyone around her.
Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Chris Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest Davis and Lettie Davis; son, John F. Parker.
Survivors include her husband, Edward “Petie” Parker, IV; son, Edward “Bert” Parker V; grandchildren, Edward “Rand” Parker VI, Andrew John Parker, Duncan “Alex” Parker, Anna Ruth Parker, Liam Duncan Parker and Jax Duncan Parker.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Paul Brown, Jack Bobo, Tom Childers, Jimmy Edwards, Roger Haddock, Don Threet, Barry Woods, Joe Medders, Leonard Duncan, Roy Graves, and Jim Vardaman.
