Jo Ann (Hamby) Thomas

Jo Ann Thomas, 90, of Florence, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024, at Columbia Cottage Assisted Living.  She was a homemaker. Jo Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who was loved by everyone who met her.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 6-7 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be at dusk in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating will be David Allison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oran and Grada Hamby; her husband, James “Jim” Thomas; son, James Donald Thomas; and granddaughter, Alicia Bell.

Jo Ann is survived by her daughters Janis Poss, Florence, and Lisa Hannah (Phillip), Indianapolis, IN, brother, James Larry Hamby, Florence; grandchildren, Jessica Worthington, Elizabeth Thomas, Samantha Thomas, Zack Poss, Cory Poss, Ashley Poss, Hunter Poss, Lindsey White, Lucas Hannah; great grandchildren, Aaron Carter, Meghan Worthington, Isabella Worthington, Leigha Worthington, Peyton Worthington, Issac Majid, Ticen Majid, Jaxon Bell, Leonidas Soper, Jaydyn Irons, Zachary Poss, Nathaniel Poss, Brayden Poss, Buckley Poss, Charlie Poss, Vivian Poss, Luc White, Jameson White.

Pallbearers will be Zach Poss, Cory Poss, Hunter Poss, Aaron Carter, Zachary Poss, Brayden Poss, Nathaniel Poss, Peyton Worthington, and Jaydyn Irons.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Felix Morris, Dr. Eric Santiago, Lucas T. Hannah, and Phillip T. Hannah.
