Jimmy N. Haun, 89, a proud U.S. Navy veteran and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025.
He served his country with honor during the Korean War aboard the USS Mt. Baker AE-4. From 1951 to 1954, he played a vital role in the war effort, supplying ammunition and supporting allied forces in the Pacific. One of the most harrowing experiences of his service came during a collision with the ROKS Apnok in 1952, an event that left a lasting mark on him and exemplified the true cost of war. His bravery, resilience, and dedication to his fellow sailors never faded, even decades after the conflict.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, James Haun; his beloved mother; his cherished wife, Shirley Haun; and his son, Phillip C. Lamb.
He is survived by his grandsons Mike Lamb, Matt Lamb, and Tim Lamb; his granddaughters-in-law, Jennifer Lamb and Amber Lamb; and his six great-grandchildren: Katie Lamb, James Lamb, Kelly Lamb, Julie Lamb, Madelynn Lamb, and Scarlett Lamb. His legacy lives on through the strength and compassion he instilled in his family.
Jimmy will be remembered for his quiet strength, his deep sense of duty, and the love he carried for his family and country. His stories, his sacrifices, and his presence will be missed beyond measure.
Fair winds and following seas, Grandpa.
