Jerry Donald Chandler

A Memorial Service for Jerry Donald Chandler, 58, of Florence, Alabama, will be 12 noon, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at North Wood United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends from 10:30am to 12 noon prior to the service.  The interment will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.  Gabe Gomez, Brett Stewart, and Keith Black will officiate the service.  He was born January 20, 1966, to William Gerald & Jeanette Grace Chandler.  He passed from this life on July 12, 2024, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

JD grew up at North Wood United Methodist and later attended Church of the Highlands with his family.  He was well-loved as a son, brother, husband, father, “Shug,” “Don Don,” coach, and friend.  He was happiest spending time with his family, loved ones on the ballfield, fishing on the river, and visiting friends on Etheridge, TN.  JD cherished his time spent with life-long friends and was a proud Coffee Yellow Jacket. The family is eternally grateful for the selfless family and friends for the unwavering support throughout this journey.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Gerald Chandler. 

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Shields Chandler; mother, Jeanette Grace Chandler; son, William Chandler (Kiah); daughters, SueEllen Gean (Kirby), Abby Grace Payson (Michael); sisters, Grace Ann Armagost (Brad) & Amy Chandler; grandchildren, Lillie-Ruth, Eli, Ella Blake, Posie, Bowen; nephews, Chandler and Cole Armagost; cousins, Angie Meyers and David Manion.
