James "Bubba" Montgomery Obituary

James Marion “Bubba” Montgomery Bubba was born on October 11, 1947 to Mary Magdalene and James Montgomery. He was a big blue eyed baby boy that everyone fell in love with. He had a magnetic personality and touched the life of so many. He was a member of Faith Church. God called him home on Easter, March 31, 2024. He was surrounded by his family and knew that he was so loved by them until he drew his last breath. We can only imagine that God called him home on Easter, the day he was resurrected from his grave three days after his death. We can only imagine he picked that day because Bubba was so special tohim. We can only imagine that Jesus took our precious Bubba’s hand and very gently led him through the pearly gates into God’s most holy place. We can only imagine that Bubba is now sitting at the feet of Jesus with all his family that have gone on before him surrounding him with open arms to welcome him into heaven. Bubba was preceded in death by his wife, Jana Lynn King Montgomery; Parents, Mary Magdalene and James Montgomery. He is survived by daughter, Jessica White and husband Jason White; son Jason Michael Montgomery; grandchildren Reagan and Brayden Montgomery; sister Judy Montgomery Zahnd. Bubba graduated from Coffee High School and joined the Army. He served his county during the Vietnam War in Thailand. He loved his family deeply and was a good husband, father and grandfather. You could always find him on the ball field with his children and grandchildren. He served as president of The Dixie Youth Ball program and was involved with his granddaughter while she played ball for Florence High School. He was a Master Mason, at Florence No. 14, Grand Lodge of Alabama; a member of the Cahaba Shriners where he was involved with fundraising. He loved people and was always looking for someone that needed help. Bubba was a jack of all trades and could do anything. This kept him a busy man all his life. Bubba worked his whole career as a machinist and retired from Reynolds’s/Wise Metals. He did contract work for Sulzer until his death. They sent him to many interesting places and they have told us that they loved him deeply. The one thing that we are most proud of is that Bubba loved our Lord Jesus and that he knew Jesus as his personal savior. We can only imagine that Jesus has written his name in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Revelation 21:27 Only those whose names are written in the book of life will be admitted to Heaven. Our family would like to give a special thank you to all the kind and loving people involved in his care. Especially the staff of Keestone Assisted Living that provided a safe, peaceful and loving place for Bubba and our family to live during his last days on this earth, also the loving assistance that Hospice of North Alabama provided. They embraced and helped take such good care of our Bubba. We will be forever grateful. Pallbearers will be Jason White, Brent Harbin, Kenny Wagnon, Greg “Radio” Hall, Donnie Barrier and Tom Wideman. Honorary pallbearers are Lon E Harbin, Robert Hunt and Todd Wallace. His service will be at Greenview Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ronny Poag officiating.; April 5,2024; visitation 12-2; service 2; burial at Tri/Cities Memorial Gardens.
