James Robert Young

Funeral service for James Robert Young, 89, 0f Florence, Alabama, will be 11AM, Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Greenview Funeral Home.  A visitation will be Tuesday night, February 25, 2025 from 6-8PM at Greenview Funeral Home. Pastor Donny Young and Brother Charles Haddock will officiate the service. The interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Young was born August 15, 1935 to William and Clura Moore Young. He passed from this life on February 22, 2025 at the North Alabama Medical Center in Florence.   He was a member of Glendale Church of Christ. Mr. Young was a superintendent for Carbine Construction for 33 years before he retired.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Burns Young; his parents, William and Clura Young; son, Dale Young; granddaughter, Ronica Adams; Grandson, Shane Poe; son-in-law, Scott Grant.

He is survived by his children, son, Donny Young (Mary); daughter, Delane Woods (Kent); daughter, Sherrie Davis (Jonathan); son, Kim Young  (Dana); daughter, Lisa Grant; grandchildren, Gary Young, Melissa Witt (Josh), Brandon Davis (Malana), Kayla Crain, Julie Bishop (Brandon), Steven Young (Dana), Matt Davis (Krista), Melanie Fleming, Hayley Klover (Jon), Jessica Phillips (Jake), Jerrad Woods (Sara), James Castle (Katie), Katie Fitch, John Paul Grant, Tabitha Hatch (Christopher), Jessica Stone (Jerad); great grandchildren, Avery, Mason, Kimberly, Victoria, Ava, Dru, Saydee, Evan, Jay, Addison, Ashlyn, Zadie, Reuben, Daisy, Rosie, Josie, Rhett, Lonnie, Malasha, Lane, Landon, Taylre, Hayden, Braison, Mason, Grayson, Devin, Hannah, Hailey, Dylan, Tori, Jeremiah, Brynlin, Easton, Kaeson, Anslee, Jaxon, Ava, Haley, Tristan, Gabe, Cristal, Paul and Stevi; great great grandchildren, Karsyn, Edlen, Knoxsyn, Kian.
