James Epps Moody, IV

James E. Moody IV passed away May 25, 2023.

A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Florence, June 1, 2023, at 11 am officiated by Rev. Brandon Miles. A reception will follow in the church library where you’re invited to celebrate his life and share your fond memories.

Jim was the co-founder of The Regency Financial Group Inc. where he served as CEO for over 25 years. Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending his time golfing, working in his yard, watching Alabama football, playing with his beloved Boxer Mr. Banks, but most of all spending time with his granddaughters and great grandsons. He enjoyed sitting on the porch with his wife Laura listening to the tree frogs in the summer, watching seasonal storms, and looking out at their beautiful garden that they built together.

From the outside, Jim was seen as the strong silent type, but those who knew him best enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor and gentle mischievousness.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Moody, III, and Doris Wilson Moody.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Blair Moody; sons, James Epps Moody, V, and William Tynes Moody; brothers, Boone Moody, and Stuart Moody; grandchildren, Mallory Moody Waterman (Joey), and Victoria Blair Moody; and great-grandchildren, August Wylder Waterman, and Sawyer Elliston Waterman.
