James Robert Brackin

James Robert (Bobby) Brackin was called home on Friday, March 3rd, 2023. He was born on April 5th, 1951, to John and Hattie Mae Brackin. He grew up in Florence, Alabama. He served in the US Army and earned a National Defense Service Metal. He was a dedicated and retired employee of Southwire. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings; Frances Ezekiel, Susan Stephens, and Kevin Brackin. 

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rita Brackin, and 3 children; Janice Brackin, Wendy Casteel (Kevin), and Amanda Miller (Brian). He leaves behind 7 grandchildren; Nikki Cook (Trenton), Ashli Kennedy (Jeremy), Morgan Burns, Kaleb Casteel, Mylee Casteel, Magee Casteel, and Peyton Miller. He also leaves behind multiple great grandchildren, 3 surviving siblings (Betty Leigh Romans, John Brackin, and David Brackin), and many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Greenview Funeral Home from 12-2 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel. Pallbearers will be Kevin Casteel, Brian Miller, Alan Brackin, Jeremy Kennedy, Cody Hayes, and Trenton Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaleb Casteel and Peyton Miller. 

He loved his family and Alabama Football. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
