JAMES EDWARD ABSTON

James Edward Abston, 80, Florence passed away Monday, September 12, 2025 at North Alabama Medical Center.  Mr. Abston was a firefighter.

There will be a graveside funeral at Tri Cities Memorial Gardens on September 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm. with Andy Kizer officiating.

Mr. Abston was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Rona Abston and his sister, Jean Bratcher. 

He is survived by his wife, Margaret O’Bryant Abston; daughter, Stacey Abston; son, Shannon Abston (Tammy); sister, Dorothy Alexander (Charles) and Jean Bratcher deceased (James); brother, Bill Abston (Linda); granddaughter, Courtney Abston; step-grandson, Zach Gamble.

Pallbearers will be Mark Bratcher, Darren Alexander, Brian Smith, Tracy Roberson, Mike Bradley and Malcolm Wilkes. 

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dewayne Alexander, Kevin Smith, Kerry Givens, Tommy Kizer, James Bratcher and Charles Alexander.
