Horace Elton Gray

Horace E. Gray, 92, of Florence, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center. He was a retired electrician and inspector for the City of St. Florian.  Horace was a member of IBEW Local 558, Masonic Lodge 788, Shriners, Antique tractor club, and Mt. Zion Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Visitation will be Friday, June 6, 2025, from 11a.m. to 12 noon, at Mt. Zion Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow at noon at the church. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Officiating will be Sonny Owens.

Horace was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Hale Gray; and his parents, Earl and Susie Gray.

He is survived by his daughters, Lori Gray Chandler (Tony) and Marsha Gray Thornton (Tim); grandchildren, Kyler Thornton, Taylor Thornton Hatton (Sawyer), and Case Thornton (Abby).

Pallbearers will be Case Thornton, David Liles, Chip Kasmeier, Sawyer Hatton, Doug Hester, and Ronnie Weaver.

Honorary pallbearer is grandson, Kyler Thornton.
