Hollie Balentine

Hollie Balentine passed from this life July 9, 2025, at the home of his daughter, Debra Wilson, surrounded by his loving family.  Hollie was a member of Mt. Zion Church for a majority of his adult life. 

Visitation will be Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Mt Zion Church of Christ with the funeral service immediately following.  Officiating will be his grandson, David Wilson.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Hollie was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Lillie Balentine; his beloved wife of 73 years, Earline Behel Balentine; brothers, Garrett, John, Tollie, Hassel, Will and sister, Nettie.

He is survived by one sister, Opal Aday, of Tuscumbia, daughters, Debra Wilson (David); Norene Olive (Larry), of Florence, his son Jessie Balentine, of Southwest Harbor, Maine; grandchildren, David Wilson (Jerri), Davin Wilson (Kim), Dedra Wilson Sheffield (Andy), Kim Olive Colla (Derek), Heather Olive Kersey (Caleb); 11 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Active Pallbearers will include Austin Wilson, Andy Sheffield, Wyatt Wilson, Caleb Kersey, Davin Wilson and Adam Wilson.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Derek Colla.

The family would like to express their immense gratitude to the amazing group of caregivers at Gentiva Hospice.  You are true angels!
