Hilda (Bosold) Gremillion Vaughn

Mrs. Hilda Bosold Gremillion Vaughn passed from this life Friday morning, January 17, 2025 at the age of 92.

She was born on August 28, 1932 in Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by three husbands: Louis Ray Gremillion, John Leckenby, and Jack Vaughn. Hilda and her first husband Ray had four children who now mourn her passing: Chris Gremillion of Florence, Terry Gremillion of Baton Rouge, LA, Marcelle McDaniel and husband Harold of Athens, AL, and Greg Gremillion of Florence.

She spent part of her childhood in Chicago before the family moved to Baton Rouge, LA. There she attended BR High School where she played the flute in the band. She graduated and then attended LSU. It was in Baton Rouge where she met Ray Gremillion. They married in 1956 and moved to Florida. Later, Ray was offered a job at TVA and so the family moved to Florence, AL.

She was a homemaker, then worked for United Way of the Shoals, and later for the Helen Keller Public Library.

She had been a faithful member of the Helton Drive church of Christ. In the last few years, her health had prevented her from attending worship services, but her love for the Lord had not diminished.

The family would like to thank Aveanna Hospice for helping with her care over the past 14 months.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Helen Keller Public Library or the American Cancer Society.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Monday, January 20th at Greenview Funeral Home in Florence, AL. A chilly graveside service will be held at 2 pm January 21st at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence, AL.
