Harlon G. McGee

It is with grieving hearts that we announce the passing of Harlon G.  McGee, age 93, of Iron City, Tennessee.  He passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at NHC Nursing Home in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, where he had been a patient for the last 4 weeks.  Harlon grew up in Cloverdale, Alabama and was a Member of Bethel Grove Church, Florence.

Harlon was preceded in death by his father, Gilford (Crit) McGee and mother, Eula Rhodes McGee; brother, Berlon; sister-in-law, Ivadean McGee; and son-in-law, Buddy Goodman.

 He is survived by loving wife, Susan; son, Ray McGee (Paula); daughter, Patricia Goodman; stepdaughters Tina Mitchell (Roger), Fredia Rikard; and stepson, Gene (Kim) Fendley;  grandchildren, Marcus (Nikki) and Ryan (Samantha) McGee; Brandon (Michelle) White; Roger (Alyssa), Andrew (Kenda), and Erik (Brandy) Mitchell; Amanda (Brian) Brown; Courtney (Josh) Smith; Christopher (Cassidi) Dickey; Tanner (Molly) Rikard; and Eugene Fendley, III.  Several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.  Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Greenview Funeral Home, Florence, Alabama.  A memorial service will be Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Greenview Funeral Home. Officiating will be Gerald Montgomery.  Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park.  Pallbearers: Marcus and Keith McGee, Christopher Dickey, Andrew and Erik Mitchell and Tanner Rikard.  Honorary pallbearers include Josh Smith and Roger Mitchell.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at NHC Lawrenceburg for their kindness and compassion.
