Gladys Lynn (Bevis) White

Gladys Lynn Bevis White was born on September 21, 1937 and passed away on August 12, 2025.

She graduated from Central High School in 1956.  On December 16, 1958, she married John David White. Their union was blessed with two children: a daughter, Pamela Lynn, and a son, John David II. She and John were married for 47 years.

After high School, Gladys went to work at the telephone office until the service transitioned to dial. She eventually retired from the US Postal Service in Killen, Alabama after working alongside her husband for 15 years. 

Gladys was a devoted Christian and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She even worked at Darby Drive CoC and International Bible College for a number of years.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, John, and her son, John David II. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Pam Brotherton (Dan); her late son’s widow, Lisa Hall; four grandchildren: Chad Brotherton (Michelle), Kristi Keeley (Ryan), Chris White (Jo Mae), and David White (Kirstie); and twelve great-grandchildren: Addison, Stella, JohnDavid, Ellie, Corwin, Isabel, Anthony, Rebekah, Abigail, Leo, Anna and Titus.
