Gail Wells, 74, of Florence, left this life due to ALS Saturday, August 2, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family and began her eternal life with Jesus in Heaven.
A longtime member of Central Baptist Church, Gail served faithfully as Sunday School Director, WMU Director, VBS Director, teacher, prayer warrior, and choir member. She also served as a president of the Christian Women’s Club and was involved in home Bible studies. As a self-taught Interpreter for the deaf, Gail translated for 50 years and made it her career.
She earned an English teaching degree from Auburn University (War Eagle!) and a Masters degree in counseling from UNA.
Gail was a loving Wife, Mother, Granna and Friend who shared God’s unconditional love through joy, kindness, and patience. Her spiritual gifts of compassion, hospitality, faith, service, and mercy brought comfort and joy to everyone around her. She made it her mission to bless others with her time and presence.
Reading Christian books and crossword puzzles were her special interests. She treasured every moment with family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 1:30-3:00 at Central Baptist Church, Florence. The memorial service “A Life Lived with Christ” will follow at 3:00p.m., officiated by Bro. Todd Wilson and Bro. Tommy Ferguson.
