Frances Earline Berry Phelps, 89, of Florence, passed away January 23, 2025 at her residence. She was a member of Petersville Church of Christ and worked at North Alabama Christian Children’s Home.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 10-12 p.m. at Petersville Church of Christ. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. at the church with Adam Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Lavender, Jordan Eddy, Lucas Marks, Issac Rivera, Zion Rivera and Chris Burbank.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ricardo “Poncho” Rivera, Caleb Lavender, Terry Oakley, Gary Pannell and Bob Parks.
Mrs. Phelps was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Malcolm Phelps, II; parents, Jacob and Alma Berry; son and his wife, Bruce Malcolm Phelps, III (Carolyn); brother and his wife, David Berry (Anne); granddaughter, Stephanie Phelps; and great-grandson, Ethan Reid Phelps Whiteside.
She is survived by her daughters, Frances Barber (Marvin), Sheree Lavender, and Marjorie Rivera (Ricardo “Poncho”); brother, Norman Berry (Carol); sister, Fana Smith; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ellis (Aaron), Rebecca Phelps, Jonathan Porter, Joshua Barber (Casey), Clay Barber (Melissa), Kevin Barber (Keri), Caleb and Kyle Lavender, Brooke Rivera, Amanda Marks (Lucas), Madison Eddy (Jordan) Codi Rivera, Haolin Xu (Jeff), Aaron Ellis, Jr. (Kaitlelyn), Ryan, Rachel, and Hope Ellis, Ayden Textus, Ryan, Grant, and Stevie Barber, Issac Rivera, Eliza and Levi Eddy, Zion Rivera, Emmalynn and Ann Marks, and Andrew Barkley; and numerous children from North Alabama Children’s Home.
