Donald Fred Thompson, M.D., 84, of Florence, entered his heavenly reward Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. Visitation will be warmly welcomed Saturday November 11, 2023, at Cross Point Church from 11 am to 1 pm with funeral service to follow promptly at 1 pm. Immediately following the funeral service, the automotive procession will depart for the mausoleum interment to be held at Tri-Cities Memorial Garden. Dr. Thompson is survived by devoted wife Mrs. Joyce Clement Thompson. He is also survived by loving children Heather Escobar (Joseph), Jeff Thompson, and Debbie Hall (Joel) and his adoring grandchildren Genessa, Christina, Taylor, Evan, Gabby, Isabella, Summer, Tiffany, Soleil and precious great grandchildren Giovanni, Valentina, Addison, Rosaleigh, Rhett, Jett, Beck, and baby Dawson.  Dr. Thompson is fondly remembered by stepchildren Angela Looser (Bill) and Mark Dennis (Tanya) and step grandchildren Lauren, Rachel, Houston, Amber, Aston and Step great grandchildren Porter, Hayes, Drake, Vivian, and Colton. He is also greatly loved by the spouses of his children and grandchildren, the spouses of his stepchildren and step grandchildren. Prayers and sentiments of love and support reached the home of Dr. Thompson’s family. Dr. Thompson lived a distinguished life worthy of acknowledged respect and admiration from family, friends, medical colleagues, patients. He graduated at School of Medicine at University of Arkansas with distinction. He launched a long lasting stellar private practice in Dermatology Medicine in Florence AL. Dr. Donald F. Thompson will be greatly missed by his devoted family nevertheless our confidence in our Lord sustains us for a promised family reunion.
