Dorothy “Mama/Maw” spent her life caring for others. She was always putting others’ needs before her own. Jim became ill at the age of 3, rendering him totally reliant on his Mama. The doctors gave him little time to live, but mom loved, cared for, and nursed him to the age of 26 years. She then took her care for others to nursing homes and hospitals, being a private sitter for families and individuals in need. She took care of her husband, Edsel, during his time of need and always took care of her children. Mom was the greatest cook. No one could say no to her cakes, from family to the Underwood-Petersville Fire Department. The cakes were always a huge hit.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Robert Mann and Affinity Hospice for taking care of our sweet mother. Also, thank you to UPFD for always being there for her.
