David Bruce Dison, 78, of Florence, passed away April 30, 2024. He was an Eagle Scout, Alabama football fan, a 1963 graduate of Coffee High School and a graduate of Florence State College (UNA). David worked as a pipefitter for Colbert Steam Plant. He was a diehard Rock & Roll, Blues fan. After his college years he decided to go meet his long-time pen pal in Finland. In a short time, she became the love of his life and they married in 1969. They had a loving marriage for 54 years. Eira and David have four lovely grandchildren. Every Summer all of them came to their house for a week of “Camp Grand.” You could not tell who had more fun, the children or the “Camp Counselors.” We will miss you, David. You were the greatest husband, father and grandfather.
David’s memorial service will be Friday, May 3, 2024 at First United Methodist Church at 12:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with a visitation beginning 11:00 a.m. in the atrium.
