Darryl Wade Tippett

Darryl Tippett, 65, of Florence, AL. passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025, after a brief illness, at his home, surrounded by his sisters and brother. Darryl attended Wilson High School and was employed by the Lee Company in Florence.

There will be a family graveside service at 11 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Park, Wednesday, September 24, 2025.  Ashley Pettus will be officiating.

Darryl is survived by his brother, Danny Tippett, sisters, Darlene Tippett Mabry, and Sherri Tippett.  He is also survived by his niece, Melanie Mabry Lovelace (Brandon) and great nieces Mabry Laine and Mary Michael Lovelace.

He is preceded in death by his father, J. D. Tippett, Jr., and mother, Alta Tippett; brother-in-law, Tommy Mabry; and his nephew, Michael Mabry.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Lovelace, Art Carnes, Larry Keeton, Jody Tippett, Brian Wray, and Mike Oakley.

Darryl was a lover of animals.  The great love of his life for the last 17 years was his precious dog, Sassy. Darryl loved Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves.  You never saw him without his Alabama cap.  He loved working in the yard and being outside and playing with his dog, Sassy. Darryl was a good man who lived a simple life.  He will be loved and missed forever.
